The Markham Garden and Horticultural Society, growing since 1920, brings fellow gardeners together to provide an opportunity to show flowers, fruit and vegetables grown in our own gardens.

We have design classes in the flowers shows for those who like flower arranging.

We also offer opportunities for gardeners to exchange ideas and techniques.

Each month a speaker provides gardening related information.

You do not need to have a garden to be a member but just a love of nature.

We have a plant sale early in May and alternate each year between a garden tour and a bus tour.

Meetings are held on the 4th Monday of the month. There are no meetings in January, July or December.

Our meeting location is the Markham Village Community Centre, 6041 Highway 7 East at the southeast corner of Highway 7 and Main Street Markham.

Tree Canada is the non-profit organization dedicated to improving the lives of Canadians by planting and nurturing trees. Through our programs, research and educational efforts, we have helped restore tree cover in areas hit by natural disasters, guided communities in managing their urban forests, helped green 660 schoolyards and organized annual urban forest conferences. To date, with our community partners and sponsors, we have planted more than 82 million trees.
